A 403(b), also known as a TSA (Tax Sheltered Annuity), is a retirement account for certain employees of public schools and tax-exempt organizations. For public educators in the State of Iowa, the 403(b) plan is designed to supplement your IPERS Pension and Social Security benefits at retirement.
You choose how much of your income you would like to save through automatic salary reductions. You can choose to save on either a Pre-Tax or Roth basis (if allowed by your employer) and your contributions and earnings grow tax-deferred in your account.
